Last night I watched the possible series finale for HEROES and it was AWFUL. This season wasn't that bad, but last not was just disgusting. It was one giant plot hole, with a very tossed together, anti-climatic ending. Samuel gets arrested because he started an earthquake ? Who called that in? Who answered the phone and believed it ? Claire reveals herself as "FREAK" in front of the media and now everything's different ? REALLY ? Was that the whole point of the season ? Or even the show ? ...As crazy as it sounds, due to the over all crappiness of this episode I definitely think HEROES needs another season because if this is how it ends that's just sad. The Fugatives arc was better than this.....
I really want the series to get another season just to tie up the millions of loose ends... Like the revelation that Tracy Straus and Niki Sanders had a 3rd sister that has powers and was insinuated to have been created in a lab.... bring back characters that simply disappeared, like Peter's Irish girlfriend, Mohinder,(again) Micah( or Rebel, if you will), and that one hot Hispanic woman with the black tears of death that dumped Mohinder when he went super fly (har har). Explain why, all of a sudden in this last episode HRG mentioned the old company being back, even though I'm pretty sure it was destroyed two seasons ago.
Also explain/show all the "future Heroes", like Future Hiro ! They hinted that those futures could still happen, but showed absolutely no progression towards it. Lastly I need more Sylar as a full blooded good guy... I've always wanted this and not that I have it, they can't just take it away... they can't !
Unlike most of the world, I've enjoyed MOST of what Heroes has given us. I loved Seasons 1 and 2. I hated the Fugitives chapter and actually liked this particular season until this horrible final episode. I think the show still has potential for a satisfying wrap up and I'd like the writers/ NBC to give it just one more push.
Who knows ? I might get what I want. So far despite low ratings Heroes DVD sales have been strong and we all know networks make WAY more money on DVD sales than airings. Despite all the internet hate, people are still buying the DVD's..... I'm not one of those people, but I'd consider it if they give us another go.
