LOST THEORY: THE RETURN OF WALT

Now that LOST is back you guys might start to get annoyed with me but I really can't help myself. It's a sickness. Anyway I've got a theory about how Walt will be brought back into the show. As always this is spoiler heavy if you haven't seen season 6. Enjoy!

They can easily bring Walt back on the show in a couple of ways and may have already planned this. Michael wasn't on the plane. But why would he be ? It's possible that Walt's mother didn't die in the new continuity, and thus Michael didn't have a reason to go to Australia and due to that, no Walt on the plane as well.

Great, so they don't have to deal with him there, but what about on the island ? They set into motion that Walt is special and has abilities, can be in places he shouldn't be and can manifest things.

They also made a point to show the taller "Ghost Walt" (which could be Walt in present day projecting himself or just Smokey) and had Walt in the real world mention he was having dreams about Locke with angry people surrounding him. I don't think those happenings were just coincidence.

It's possible that older Walt will be able to use his powers to get back the island or create a projection of himself, after sensing that Locke is dead. He will be able to be in another place that he shouldn't be, like the island or even across time. Additionally it's worth noting... Who else does Walt's abilities remind you of ? - Jacob.

Think about it... Jacob has shown via talking to the Oceanic 6 and most recently Hurley by giving him the guitar case (before he died) that he can go off island. What if those instances were just Jacob manifesting objects like Walt, and projecting himself in different places, like Walt.

I'm not saying Walt is Jacob but he may be a second coming or a heir to the throne...it might explain why Ben was willing to let him leave the island, mainly so that he couldn't meet his full potential and become another contender for ownership of the island.

  1. Chris, I think that Walt coming back is definitely a possibility, but I do question it. When Locke was Jeremy Bentham in the wheel chair and see's Walt he lets Walt go. He does not try to convince Walt saying that Walt has had enough. Perhaps Walt will return to the Island to "fight" for the "good 'others'" (See my facebook note).
If Walt does come back, I don't think that he will simply be a projection or manifestation, but will really, truly come back.
